Tips for Going Paperless

The Harding Group Going Paperless

Going paperless will clear out your office and create a more efficient workplace.

Going paperless, especially if your business deals with a lot of documentation, can be an intimidating prospect. It doesn’t need to happen overnight, but taking steps as you go along will eventually lead to an efficient, paperless office. Reaping the benefits of going digital will make you glad you did it, and as an added bonus, it’s eco-friendly!

Digitize Paper Documents

The beginning of going paperless is digitizing your current paper documents. Get a digital filing system set up and scan in all important papers that are currently living in your filing cabinets. Going paperless means getting everything you need into a digital format, so don’t ignore this step and only go paperless for the future.

Get On the Cloud

Invest in a cloud service. These are invaluable for going paperless as a business. It allows all employees to access important documents from anywhere and ensures that these documents are being safely hosted on a server. It is never a bad idea to back up all of these documents to your hard drive or an external hard drive. Rather than needing multiple paper copies, you can keep multiple copies of these documents on different devices so you can rest assured they’re always available even when one set is lost.

Utilize eSignatures

If you or your patrons need to sign a lot of documents, don’t use that as an excuse to avoid going paperless. Utilizing online esignatures is very simple and easy to implement. Doing business in person is quickly becoming a thing of the past, and many businesses are turning to online signatures for their documents. It makes the entire process much simpler, and these documents can be easily stored and sorted so you can quickly see which have been signed.

Pay Bills Online

If you’re still getting paper bills, consider signing up for automatic payments. Paying your monthly bills online means dealing with less paper mail. Also, with automatic payments, you don’t need to worry about making sure the bills get paid. Let the power of the internet make your life easier and give you fewer envelopes to open.
